The organizers are happy and proud to announce the fourth edition of the Model African Union Bayreuth Conference (BAYMAU19). From the 7th to the 11th of June, they warmly invite you to the University of Bayreuth to be part of a fruitful exchange through various workshops and discussions.
This year’s conference will be held under the theme “Africa in motion – Visions of Mobility, Identities and Citizenship” including topics of utmost relevance for present and future processes and policies.
The conference will be offering a well-balanced mix of cultural and informative activities. Countless workshops like singing or dancing workshops, lectures of guests such as the Anglophone Cameroonian human right lawyer Agbor Nkongho, Kofi Nkrumah, CEO of the non-profit-organization BFG Ghana, or Elisabeth Kaneza a political scientist from Rwanda and representatives of NGOs like Afrique Europe Interact and VisaWie?, a movie night and a panel discussion are awaiting the participants. The organizers are especially looking forward to this year’s panel discussion on the topic “Decolonizing knowledge systems in Africa” in which known people such as Dr. Cassandra Ellerbe, diversity consultant, curator and member of the management board of “Eine Welt der Vielfalt e.V.” promise a thought-provoking contention.
In overall, the conference’s aim is to bring people of different backgrounds together to exchange their opinions, experiences and ideas and especially to learn from each other.
