Workshop: "Undisciplining and Metholodiges of Care: Rethinking the Politics of Knowledge in Postcolonial Landscapes"
2021-08-08 to 2021-08-11
Online
Our departure point for this workshop is the question how to empirically address and theorize layered forms of violence that imbricate post-colonial landscapes and ecological relations as well as the knowledge practices associated with these. How can we come up with new approaches that confront yet do not repeat the epistemic and material violence of coloniality?
As we face the challenges of transdisciplinary engagements with violent pasts and the difficulty to work through multiple knowledge registers, we deem it necessary to have this methodological reflection in exchange with colleagues who work in other fields. This will allow us to sharpen our own approach, identify some of the possible dead ends of our research endeavor and create new synergies. In asking what constitutes “the empirical” in a decolonial research practice we seek to explore more collaborative and genitive forms of knowledge production.
