Africa and 18 years of Nego-Feminism:
Space, Intersectionality, Responsibility
The Series "African FeminismS Past and Present" will kick-off with a lecture by Professor Obioma Nnaemeka. In her lecture, entitled Africa and 18 years of Nego-Feminism: Space, Intersectionality, Responsibility, Prof. Nnaemeka will revisit the entanglement of African and Western knowledges as well as how researchers and pedagogues in African Studies and African Gender Studies de-center hegemonic structures to encourage progressive pedagogy and inspire meaningful political action. She will also interrogate the demand on intersectionality in the specific socio-economic, political, cultural and historical context of Africa through the notion of what she calls "domesticating intersectionality"
