Prof. Alber awarded research grant
Prof. Dr. Erdmute Alber was awarded a research grant and will join an interdisciplinary fellow group at MISA at the University of Ghana in Accra.
One of the cluster’s principal investigators, Prof. Dr. Erdmute Alber (Vice Dean of Research between 2019-2022), has been awarded a research grant of four months at the Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) at the University of Ghana in Accra. From March 1 to June, 30, 2023 the Chair for Social Anthropology at the UBT joins the most recent Interdisciplinary Fellow group „Increasing Women´s political presence in West Africa“ (IFG 8). Alber will contribute with a study on women´s biographical trajectories in Benin, and their perception of the political sphere.
The Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and dedicated to the topic of ‘Sustainable Governance’. Overarching aims of MIASA are working towards a reduction of global asymmetries in knowledge production and bridging the cultural divide between anglophone and francophone Africa.
