Emmanuel Parraud is a French film director and screenwriter. Since 1989, he has directed several short films, including “La Statue de la Vierge” and “La Steppe”, both of which have won awards at festivals and been broadcast on French television. His most recent medium-length film, “Tout, tout a continué”, was in the national competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival in 2016. Since 2010, Parraud has been shooting his films mainly in La Réunion with the determination to highlight the dignity, language and talent of those who are never spoken of, and to denounce the contemporary stigma of French colonialism and slavery.
In 2021, Parraud joined the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence for the film festival Cinema Africa. There he presented his films “Maudit!” and “Sac la mort”.
