Marvin Rodríguez Torres was born in 1986 in Cuba. In 2014, he started taking photography courses and seminars. He is vice-president of the Federación Nacional de Cineclubes de Cuba, Santiago de Cuba branch, and president of the Athenea film club. Starting in 2014 he did numerous exhibitions, among them one in 2020 at the Iwalewahaus in Bayreuth. Currently, he works in the Audiovisual and Heritage Department of the Fernando Ortiz African Cultural Centre in Santiago de Cuba where he is in charge of the preservation of the pieces that make up the permanent collection of art and handicrafts of African origin. On the research side, he has participated in the XVII and XVIII editions of the International Conference on African and Afro-American Culture.
He has worked with the Cluster several times, for example for the Digital Literature Festival in 2020 and the annual international conference in 2022 on “Medialities”, where he was part of the panel “Augmented Island Topographies: Performing Alternative Imaginaries”.
