For the 16th time, the film festival Cinema Africa presents a series of films from the African continent. All movies will be shown in Cineplex Bayreuth. Tickets will be available online or at the boxoffice.

In NOME, veteran Guinean director Sana Na N’Hada refl ects on the anti-colonial struggle against Portugal from 1969 to the mid-1970s through a lyrical and minimalistic lens. The story follows Nome, who leaves his village to join the guerrillas, rising as a heroic leader while his abandoned relationships resurface during the turbulent post-revolutionary era. The fi lm explores the utopian hopes of African
revolutions and the seeds of betrayal within them. Archival footage by N’Hada enhances the fi lm’s poetic depth, transforming fragile, scratched frames into a powerful visual language.
