Detlev Quintern is Asst. Prof. at the Turkish German University (faculty of cultural- and social studies) in Istanbul. Trained as a historian of ideas, sciences, philosophies and politics, he teaches cultural, heritage and museum studies. His research areas are the web of life (soul/body/nature/culture), focusing on long-time history in the context of universal, mainly Arabic-European knowledge sharing.
