The publications from our core Junior Research Group are mostly Open Access. If not, feel free to contact the authors. We also list thematically related works by our associated researchers. Finally, we are in the process of organizing the JRG’s main book project “Politics of the Unknown. Images of Power and Power of Images,” which will be published by iwalewabooks in 2025. With a focus on West Africa, it combines artistic and social scientific approaches to rumors, conspiracism, and the politicization of the unknown. The artistic approaches serve to reflect on how our heuristic tools inevitably structure what we see and capture in the world and what we ignore.
