Personal Information
Odile Goerg is a Professor Emeritus of Contemporary African History at the University of Paris Diderot. Her research focuses on economic, cultural and social history in urban contexts, particularly Conakry and Freetown, with a particular interest in cinema, new media, the dissemination of ideas, using gender perspectives and reflections on categorizations and representations as a critical lens. While her focus is on the colonial period, her reflection extends to the period of independence.
