Rogers Orock is an anthropologist with interests in elites, politics, development, and the state in Central and West Africa. His ethnographic study of elites and the moral economy of leadership and development in Cameroon has examined questions of political mobilization, democratization, and development as well as rumours and conspiracy theories (with Peter Geschiere) about Freemasonry, postcolonial homophobia, and illicit enrichment by in Cameroon and Gabon.
