Personal Information

Sven Werner is an artist and filmmaker best known for the richly atmospheric worlds of magical realism, which he creates in both his films and his immersive narrative art installations. His recent short film, The Inescapable Arrival of Lazlo Petushki, won the Scottish BAFTA for Best Short in 2017. Combining sonic and immersive sculptural environments, Sven weaves worlds that seem to bypass logic and communicate directly with our imagination. Werner exhibits internationally and is currently developing his new feature film, Cinema of Dreams, a mysterious fantastical journey, realized in Werner’s trademark hybrid of miniature film sets, live action and animation.
